System Requirements
Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, 98, ME or 95
- Mac OS X, 9.x

Other systems such as Linux should work, however we do not provide any configuration help for them in this document and do not offer any telephone support for troubleshooting purposes.

INTERNET BROWSER SOFTWARE
- Internet Explorer 5.5
- Netscape 7.x
- Mozilla 1.x

Earlier versions of the above browser applications should work, however they have not been tested with the Internet service in your residence. We do not provide any configuration help for them in this document although the settings should be similar to the screenshots in the Troubleshooting section.

HARDWARE
The minimum requirements for your PC's processor, CPU and memory will depend on the Operating System and browser software you are using. Refer to your software's documentation for this information.

Ethernet port / NIC (Network Interface Card). Most new PC's will include a built-in NIC. This looks like a slightly bigger version of a standard modem port. If your PC does not have a NIC, you can purchase one from most computer stores. For an additional fee they may also be able to install it for you.

- A CD-ROM drive to access the Welcome Pack CD.
- Network cable.*

*This is a CAT5 UTP cable and not a modem cable. These can be obtained from the reception in your residence.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend that you install Anti-Virus software on your PC. Please read the software's documentation on how to install and configure this correctly.

We recommend that you install Personal Firewall software. Although we protect the network from the Internet with a firewall, we cannot protect your PC from other users inside this firewall. You can either purchase this software or download free versions from the Internet. Try searching under www.download.com for "personal firewall".

We recommend that you do not share any files or folders on your PC. These are recommendations, and do not have to be followed for the service to work. We do not take any responsibility for the installation, configuration or maintenance of any hardware or software component on your PC.
